Privacy Policy

Introduction

evan.wtf is a personal blog — one person’s notes, going back to 2001. This policy explains what is handled when you read it.

It is a static site. There are no accounts, no comments, no forms, no newsletter, no email collection, and nothing is sold or advertised.

By using this site, you agree to the practices described here.

Intended audience and GDPR notice

This site is intended for readers in the United States. It is not directed at users in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with comparable data-protection regimes (including but not limited to the EU GDPR and the UK GDPR).

This site is not GDPR-compliant or UK-GDPR-compliant. I have not built the processes, documentation, controls, or compliance infrastructure those regimes require, and I will not honor data-subject access, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or transfer requests made under them. There is no Data Protection Officer, no EU representative, no international-transfer safeguards, and no automated retention or deletion process.

If you are a resident of the EU, the UK, or any other jurisdiction with a comparable data-protection regime, please do not use this site. I do not technically block access — the links here are twenty-five years old and I would rather they kept working. If you choose to read on despite this notice, you acknowledge that the site is not GDPR / UK GDPR compliant, that I will not accommodate GDPR / UK GDPR rights or obligations on your behalf, and that you use it on that basis.

1. What is handled

1.1 Information you provide

None. There is nothing here to fill in.

1.2 Information collected automatically

Cloudflare serves this site, so it processes the ordinary request data any web server sees, including your IP address, the page requested, and your User-Agent string. It cannot deliver a page to you otherwise. Cloudflare’s handling of that data is governed by Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views. It sets no cookie, performs no cross-site tracking, and builds no profile of you.

No third-party advertising, tracking, or telemetry script runs on this site. The reading fonts are served from this domain rather than a font CDN, specifically so that reading a page here does not report your IP address to anyone else.

1.3 Information stored on your device

One thing, and only if you choose it: your theme and reading-font preference, kept in localStorage. It never leaves your browser, is not an identifier, and is not used for tracking. Clearing site data removes it.

There are no cookies.

2. What is not done

  • No advertising. There are no ad networks.
  • No sale or sharing of personal information.
  • No behavioral profiles or marketing audiences.
  • No comments, so no commenter names, emails, or IP addresses are stored.

3. Children’s privacy

This site is not intended for children under 13, and does not knowingly collect information from them.

4. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

I do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes are signaled by updating the “Last updated” date at the top.
